This is beautiful. Kind of reminds me of dreams I've had of crystals and gems, they usually look more radiant than the rest of the imagery, like in this picture.

I'm not overly fond of the skin tones, but the concept is really eye-catching and the details of the gems' texture really make it pop.

This is lovely. :D I really like all the colors in it, and how she's curled up between the gems.

I am in awe of the feet...it's all spectacular, but as I can barely draw the feet on a stick figure, these feet leave me speechless with wonder!

Again I am completely blown away, this is one of the most beautiful things I have ever laid eyes on.  The colors in the stones are spectacular and what a great and interesting title.

There are so many things I like about this piece! You have so much variety in the texture of the stones in contrast with the woman's smooth skin, and the colors almost seem to glow. I can really see the light shining through the stones! The idea is fascinating as well. Is there a story behind this idea?

Lovely work <3

Thank you so much. The title comes from Ovid's Metamorphoses, in a story about people being created from stone in order to repopulate the earth after the great flood. I particularly liked that line though, and the idea that being made from stone we are equipped to bear the weight of life.

You're welcome! I'm familiar with that particular story, though I haven't read Ovid's version. I like your interpretation, and using a variety of stones and colors, considering the inspiration. Our responsibilities in life, then, are complex and beautiful.

(Somewhat off topic, what translation of the Metamorphoses? I'm hoping to eventually read the whole set.)

The 1717 translation, done primarily by John Dryden

I like the concept in this one as well. I personally feel that Honestly-Not and chromeantennae and WeirdAndLovely and LadyBrookeCelebwen  and Lethus1 will be able to relate with this work.

At the same time Lady-Yume and Laeneris and Concora for sure, will also like this work's thematic portrayal.

Personally, I love the ambience of this painting, and I absolutely love the clarity and purity of the colours and detailing in this deviation. Its beautiful in the most ethereal sense of the word. I don't know who to submit this work to so far as DDs are concerned, but it would be nice to submit this.

Thank you. How long I worked on a piece is probably the most common questions I get... and I never know the answer
